Cenric decided to get away from it all and visit the mortal realm. In the woods, that's were he first saw Kayla who was laying on her back with a butterfly on her nose. He thought she looked more like a goddess than a mortal and nature seemed to embrace her, so he approached her to greet her. They hit it off immediately, and had a whirlwind romance.
The best way to sum up Lord Cenric II would be stoic.
To Cenric, Kayla is perfect. The fact that she is a mortal only makes her more beautiful to him. She'd wear her mother's wedding dress to go hiking, she named her favorite tree and talked to her, and even though she technically abducted him (he was a beetle at the moment), she treated him very kindly and released him in the exact same spot the next day, so no harm no foul.
